Patriotism in a Post 9/11 America

After 9/11 everyone was singing kumbaya and we were all united through such a tragic event. It didn’t matter what race you were (unless of course you happened to be associated with the people who caused the attacks) we were all brothers and sisters in the collective moment of grief. Since then we have maintained that mentality and patriotism now trumps over any other minute differences like race, gender, sexuality and class. Despite our differences we are all Americans!

Does patriotism really triumph over all evils?

You can't just say Blacks do it cuz everyone does it maybe not educational wise but its done by mexicans who only shop at mexican markets or indians that only take part in indian clebebrations every race seprerates itself from others. african americans don't appeal to segregation by simply chosing a school that suites them best, especially not now the key is that they were Historically only for blacks but anyone can attend. how about that for food for thought.

The fight for integration was for equality because whites were privy to better education but now we see that equality was never fully achieved. If things like education, living conditions and finances were separated equally perhaps going to back to segregation would work.
